Introduction

Everyone is talking about health management right now – but what’s behind it? A paradigm shift in medicine, economy and health care professions is the origin of all considerations in the direction of health management. Overcrowded hospital beds and long-term absences of employees in companies are tearing deep holes in state health budgets and minimizing the economic success of companies. Instead of investing a lot of time and money in curing diseases, a rethinking towards prevention in the broadest sense is taking place. The probably central term for this is salutogenesis.
