Webinar “Climate change, health and the effects on society” by Dr. Heiz Fuchsig, AUVA occupational physician and environmental consultant of the Austrian Medical Association.
Clean air, healthy food, high standards of hygiene and protection from poor working conditions have helped the West achieve high life expectancy and a successful economy over the last 150 years. Climate change is now setting a strong counterpoint and is leading to economic production losses and damage to health due to increasing heat and the occurrence of weather extremes.
Countermeasures also reduce diseases of civilization and thus mitigate our two budget risks in the health and pension systems. These challenges are central future issues that must be solved jointly.
